Hi. I'm new to the list. I'm researching the Collins family in Richmond Georgia from 1790 to 1820. There were several Collins brothers who moved their families to the Spirit Creek area of Richmond County about 1790-1795. I'm trying to sort out their different family groups and the collateral families. Could we all do a roll call? I read the archives, and this list appears to be very silent at present. Thanks.

I'm also researching the Durouzeaux (Deriso) family out of Augusta into Emanuel County. It's encouraging to see some action on this list. Good luck with your research, CY __________________________________ Yahoo! Mail - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005 http://mail.yahoo.com
I am researching the Rowe, Hood, Smare, and Walker families from Richmond County, Ga. Thomas Rowe married Nancy Smare in 1823, their son, James Rowe married Mary Ann (Hood) Walker then moved to Walton Co, GA shortly after the Civil War. Thomas and Nancy Rowe had another son, Robert, that married Rebecca Hood, thought to be the sister of Mary Ann Hood Walker Rowe. This branch of the family remained in Richmond Co, GA, Robert having died circa 1862. I checked a booklet that I have on "Old Pinetucky, the Lost Community" which was put out by the Core of Engineers at Ft. Gordon to show the location of various cem. and who is buried in each. Lots of known cem. with no names listed, so assuming there were no tombstones there. There were NO Collins names listed. And I did find Spirit Creek running thru Ft. Gordon properties. I am not sure where it starts or ends, as I have no specific detailed map of the area. My INGLETT and DISMUKE familes are buried there. Hope some of the names above are familiar to you. I have more generations for most of them. But only posted these early ones for you to check out. This is really helpful, I'm trying to differentiate between the Samuel Collins you mention below of Craven County NC and another possible Samuel Collins who started the SC Church, later known as Liberty Methodist Church located near Hephzibah in Richmond County. I'd be interested in any further information you can provide on this Samuel. My main names of interest are John, George, Moses, and Leven. I'm especially interested in John Collins who was JP around 1810, and captain of the tax collection District 3 in 1808. The Lewis Collins you mention below is often lumped in my group of Collins' but I believe he is not related to the group I mention above. I'll email you off list and we can explore this further. Anyone else out there have any further insight? -----Original Message----- From: Lee and Billie Jones [mailto:tjones@camden.net] Sent: Wednesday, October 26, 2005 4:50 PM To: GARICHMO-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [GARICHMO] REgarding COLLINS query by Rose Lowther Rose, I have some Collins information from the Old Edgefield Dist, and many of those folks show up in Richmond Co.
