Found an index for Augusta City directories from 1841-1879. It seems to list the heads of household. Hiram Smith is listed in 1877 & 1879 - no address or occupation. 1882 he is listed as physician at 847 Broad. 1883, 1886 & 1888 he is listed as physician at 913 Broad, residence the same. In 1888 he is listed as Hiram H. Smith. Hope this helps.
