Hello Gardner's I finally found my Greatgrandfather Munroe Gardner (African American) He was listed has Monroe Gardom in 1910 Federal Census, Crittenden County Arkansas in the Wapannoca township which he was from Alabama my Greatgrandmother Mattie was from Mississippi with a list of all the children. I had no idea my grandmother had 4 sisters and 2 brothers. I found 2 aunts and a uncle I never knew. I have been crying ever since I found them.I also found them in the new 1930 census Mississippi county, McGavock Township Joiner Arkansas, so I know that they were still alive them at age 68 (munroe) and mattie 55. I even found my grandmother's husband Charley Eastman in the 1930's census had no clue about him either. This help me alot and relieved me. I was about to give up after a couple of years I was going to call it quits but I'm glad I didn't. I am saying this was a reason to the Gardner crew never give up it seem lost for a minute but hold on a little while longer and you will see.Thank L! iz for your help. NOW my journey is about to get bigger. Glenda
Thanks, Glenda, for sharing your joy in your discoveries. It's a wonderful moment when you break through the proverbial "brick wall," isn't it? Having experienced my share of frustrations in searching my white lines, my mind boggles at how hard it must be to trace African American ancestries. So let me add an "hurray"--an hurray & congratulations for you. Yours, Joe
