Greetings, all: The use of DNA for genealogical purposes is an exciting development. It is also, for some, a business. List members are reminded that discussions of specifics should not take on the tone of promotion or advertising. Specifically, pricing information should be discussed *OFF* list, or links may be provided where such information is available. I want to make it completely clear that any ongoing "project" regarding DNA as it relates to persons of the GARDNER surname, or descendants of same, is an ON TOPIC subject for this list. I heartily welcome and encourage discussions about anything like that. I do not regard this as a major problem. Nobody is in trouble, and I haven't made any notes about who needs to be watched, either. Just keep it related to the GARDNER clan, and keep "filthy lucre" off the list. Thanks! Darrell, I am sorry I mentioned the price. I thought it might let people know that it is not as expensive as I thought it was. However, I can see where it might be taken as advertising. I am excited about the DNA testing as well. We hit a brick wall with our Gardners, (spelled Gardiner, at that time) in 1860 Missouri. Census records say they came from KY before that, but we have been unable to connect with any of the numerous families who came from there. Hopefully, this will shed more light on the different lines. Penny Gardner
