Jimbo, I've got a ton of Gardners but not a John E. and none from Michigan. Sorry. Collecting Garners also. The Gardner DNA study group is growing and we invite anyone interested in furthering their search, to join. We post the results periodically on our Web Site www.usroots.com/~gardners/index.html You will note that most of those results so far are not akin to US except for one whose relationship would go back thousands of years. But the others seem to be all of one family. You might find your family in there eventually. I'm sold on DNA for genealogical tracing.
