I know that he marries a Julia Baxter (daughter of Newton + Polly Silsbee Baxter) . Their daughters Alice M. and Susan are born 1848 and 1850 in Woodhull. They marry brothers Charles and Estes Wood from Yates Co. NY .Augustus and Julia show up in 1855 in Naples,NY (Ontario Co.) He is listed as a hotelkeeper at this time. Also, their son Evander Donley Gardner is born 1853.He marries Wealthy Wise from Cohocton, NY Augustus's wife dies 1857. He then shows up in Onarga, Illinois (Iroquois Co) in the 1860 census as a grocer, with wife #2 Mary (Russel) Gardner- I know they have 2 children George and Mabel. Mabel marries a John Mclean from Gilham, Illinois. Augustus dies 1864 and Mary dies 1910. Does any one have any connection . I'm searching for Augustus parents or siblings. I know that in Steuben Co. in early 1800's there are quite a few Gardners. In the town of Pulteney there is Stephen (sometimes spelled Garner), George, James, William and Thomas.. Thomas and George go to Michigan and name changes to Garner from what I understand. I do not know where William or James go. Yet, all are gone by 1840.
