The Reno Gazette-Journal published an interesting story on 12/22/02 about the founder of Gardnerville, Nevada. It mentions Mathew Culbertson Gardner who came from Arkansas in 1861. Also John and Mary Gardner who were from England. They were all living in Nevada in 1864. Obit information and good histories. I will email it to anyone interested. mollyg@mtrose.net.
