I am looking for the parents of Joseph Gardner, The information that I have from family papers that have been passed down is the following: Joseph Gardner b- March 17, 1774, Boston, Mass. a sea-ferring man, owned his own ship, a descendant of Thomas Gardner whose ship, the Zouch Phenix, landed at Cape Ann, Mass. in 1624. Joseph married in the West Indies in 1799 to (French name of Lady Marie Theresa Sophie Clotilde Raison da la Genesta, but to us the maiden name would be Raison) b- Aug. 1785, Port au Prince, Santo Domingo, West Indies. Came back to Boston (around 1802)and then relocated to Greenup Co. Ky.(around1804) then to Cabell Co., WV. (around 1820). Children: Mary Evelyn, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin, Eliza, America, Emily, and Joseph Henry Gardner. The male children stayed around Eastern Kenucky, all but Alexander, who relocated in New Orleans. The Females stayed around Cabell Co., WV. all but Mary Evelyn who stayed in Greenup Co., Ky. I have a hand written note by my Great-Grandfather, that states that his Grandfather, Joseph Gardner was raised in Boston, Mass. and related to General Putnam. ALL HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.
