Thank you for the many posted and private responses to my original message. Some have suggested that Do means "ditto" but I am inclined to think that, in this case, the original record from which this was transcribed was cropped. Plymo obviously = Plymouth and Do probably = Dover, Norfolk Co., MA. No one seems to know why this record was published in the "Mayflower Descendant." -----Original Message----- From: Perry Streeter [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, March 31, 2001 10:14 PM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Subject: GARDNER/WHITMARSH; Plymouth, MA; 1741 Marriage Record = Gardner, Dorothy, Mrs. of Do; and Mr Ezra Whitmarsh of Plymo, m. How (or if) was either Ezra or Dorothy (GARDNER) WHITMARSH a Mayflower descendant? Q. Was "Mrs. Dorothy GARDNER" a widow when she married Mr. Ezra WHITMARSH? Q. "Plymo" is obviously "Plymouth" cropped. Where was "Do.." Thanks for your help, Perry Perry Streeter (mailto:[email protected]) http://www.perry.streeter.com
