    1. [GARDNER] George Gardner, Immigrant to Mass. Bay Colony, 163?
    2. Joseph H. Gardner
    3. As one of the thousands who descend from this chap, I've encountered many assertions about him. Some are documented by precise references to primary sources, but others are simply posited as facts with nothing given to back them up. They may very well be true, but I'd like to know what evidence they rest upon. Let me stress I'm not necessarily questioning these assertions. I just don't want to reinvent the wheel in trying to document them. Here's some of the assertions about GEORGE GARDNER I'm hoping folks can either document or debunk. Please remember that I'm looking for primary sources, not "so-and-so said," or "such-and-such a book said": 1. George Gardner arrived in Boston aboard "The Fellowship" out of Bristol in 1637. 2. He had two sons who died on the way over, one named Ralph. 3. He had five children in six years by his third wife, LYDIA BALLOU, all of whom he sired in his late sixties & mid-seventies. Many thanks Joseph Gardner jgardner@iglou.com
