From the book "Talley's Northeastern Kentucky Papers" by William M Talley June 16, 1843 (Ports Tribune--ON) Mr. Gardner, a highly respectable farmer of Greenup Co, Ky, during last week in a parorysm of insanity, set fire to a corn crib containing some hemp, threw himself into the flames, against the efforts of his wife and sister who were struggling to prevent him, and was burned to death. We understand he was a brother of Mr. Gardner of Guyandotte.
