Mary Culp, My Gardner's were in Iowa in 1880, but Robert J Gardner's parents were both born in Indiana. The 1880 census has him down as RJ, but a second cousin told me a few years ago that is name was Robert Thomas. In 1880 census he was listed with wife Sarah 4 children: Mucie,Leon, Nelson & Hugh. Also Mother in law, Mary Campbell. I have searched for the parents of this man for about ten years now with out any luck. I can not find him before 1880 nor after 1900.
