I'm very pleased to learn from a distant cousin that the "story" is that my James GARDNER NY to VA is from a John Gardner from England...I have plenty of roots in other countries..and I'm pleased to learn this info. I'm asking if anyone knows more about this family??? "John Gardner was lost at sea around New York Sate or on way back to England. James Gardner, John's son, was b. April 26, 1758 in Fishkill Township Duchess Co, NY d. April 21, 1849 in Hillsville Carroll Co., VA. James m. Tobiatha Martin in Franklin Co, VA May 20, 1797. They had 11 children.
