Ran across an interesting article in my local paper...Methow Valley News, Okanogan Co., WA... Item taken from a book "Isabella Stewart Gardner and Penway Court" by Morris Carter, published 1925. The subject, a popular socialite of Boston, is a trustee of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. "On July 17th 1891, Mrs. Gardner's father died and she inherited about $2,750,000...that autumn a classmate of her younger brother Joseph Gardner, Mr. Guy Waring, named the highest peak in the vicinity of Winthrop, Okanogan County, Washington, Mount Gardner, and a beautiful range ...he named the Isabella Range. The name Mount Gardner has been officially recognized, but the Isabellas have never been officially surveyed and the name, even locally, is used only by a few." Also mentioned in the book, that Mrs. Gardner was a baseball fan. I don't have any additional information, but thought if this item fit someone's family, I would love to hear from them.
