Since this appears to be the only way to see how the NC Gardners are connected, we ask if anyone of those of NC backgrounds would be interested in a DNA test. Since there was a bit of doubt of my G-Grandfather's legitimacy, a known member of the extended family took the test and compared exactly to ours, thus proving he was, indeed, who he was supposed to be. It's well worth the $101. We have found a close connection to a Gardner of the New England Gardners which will now lead us in that direction. Marilynn

The Reno Gazette-Journal published an interesting story on 12/22/02 about the founder of Gardnerville, Nevada. It mentions Mathew Culbertson Gardner who came from Arkansas in 1861. Found this posting in Somebody's Links: o In a dusty old book store in Medford, Oregon, I found and bought a PERCEY family Bible. The Bible was published in 1843 by Luther Roby in Concord, New Hampshire. The surnames in the Bible are PERCEY, WILSON, REYNOLDS, GARDNER, HOLLENBECK, and WIKES. The family dates go back as far as 1812. The entries do not give locations of births or deaths. I would be glad to unite this Bible with descendants for the cost of purchase and shipping.
