    2. Hello Barbara. I am sorry but I don't see a possibiliity of a connection with our GARDNERS. I have nothing to connect them.I think my John Gardner was in the Carolina area, But strange as it seems-- they did get around! The first I have of a Gardner, is of a relative being in the Carrarus or Mecklinburg area of North Carolina. There was a lot of activity in that area . Thank you very much for your e-mail. c.todd [email protected] note: that is Cabarrus County, NC

    3. Ann, What other names are in the family Bible? I have traced my Gardners back to Cabarrus Co. NC in 1776. They were in Henderson Co. by 1848. Navarro Co is certainly closeby. 1. [GARDNER] GARDNERs to NH
    2. Hi Toni, I have a Nellie Eaton who married Frederick Gardner b. 1853, and a Russel (female) Gardner b. July 1762, m. Gideon Clark. Other than that I don't find any of those names in my records, but then, I'm sort of at a loss with my Gardners. My mother was GARDNER, she married COLLEY (from Cumberland Co., Maine) and I was born in Grafton Co., NH. (Live in Fla.) My Gardner grandparents divorced in 1941, so I never knew my grandfather and my grandmother would never speak of him nor his family. Had it not been for a Gardner first cousin, I wouldn't have the little info I had started with, and have been "digging" since. I do know, my line came from William J. Gardner, who was born in Germany 1 May 1785. Regards, Milli

    1. Re: [GARDNER] Do I hear a Nelson Gardner - VA and-or KY ???
    2. I don't have any VA or KY connections that I know of but I do have a Gardner line that goes from Scotland (mid-1700s) > NY > PA (late 1700s) > OH (early 1800s) > IL (mid-1800s) with a John, Adam, John, Edwin, Arthor, and Edwin, in that order. What may be a passing coincidence, though, is that I seem to find several along the way with a middle name of Nelson. Whether it might have been a first name that might tie somehow to your Nelson or whether it might have been a family surname at some point, I haven't been able to determine. If you can make anything of it, please e-mail me direct.
