    1. [GARDNER] Edgar L. GARDNER possible PA, born aroun d 1900
    2. Cheryl
    3. I am looking for information regarding the family and ancestry of Edgar L. GARDNER possibly in Pennsylvania, born around 1900. He married Pearl Mardis and had at least two daughters, Joyce and Jean. Jean was my grandmother and born in Aliquippa, PA in the 1930s. I think that the family moved at some point to Fairfield, AL, but not sure when or if Jean GARDNER moved there later in her life and met my grandfather as she was working for the War effort, (World War II). Jean GARDNER married my grandfather, who is still living, in Fairfield, AL, in the 1940s, I think. Please email with any information or leads you may have. Thanks! 1. [GARDNER] Henry Gardiner....Hamilton, Scotland
    2. Bonnie Jean
    3. Henry was married to Sommerville Buchanan Law and they had at least four children possibly more. The youngest child was my grandfather, Alexander Millar Gardiner born 1891 and he was sent to Canada with the 'Home Children' program which took orphans (supposedly) and sent them to work on the farms in Canada. He came to Canada when he was 14 and his siblings remained in Scotland. I would really like to connect with any of their descendants. -- With best wishes from Bonnie Jean, mailto:[email protected]

    3. Sorry, I mailed this before but from the wrong address - Rootsweb won't recognize it. Apologies if you get it twice. One request, please. For those of us who are not on AOL, could you please put AOL in the subject line in the AOL correspondence, so that those of us who do not need to read it don't waste our time? There is no point in writing GARDNER in the subject line, since the list is from GARDNER we already know that. Same with other topics. It might be helpful, for example, to put the state or location in which you are reseaching in the subject line rather than just GARDNER. Then folks who have no information or interest in those areas don't need to open the mailings. Please don't take offense, this is just an attempt to help things to run more smoothly. 2. Hi Lynn, Goodness, I hope so! AOL is converting our text to HTML, but we've had no problems until the last few days, when Rootsweb installed a new "screening" program. The two spelled disaster for AOL 6. users. A small effort with our text, we AOL users, and the rest of you should have no trouble with the list and hopefully we can get back to genealogy. Thanks, Milli List Admin.

    2. My apologies to our subscribers on other servers, for the many messages regarding the AOL problem. True, it has nothing to do with genealogy, but as list administrator, my duty is to keep the list running smoothly and try to assist with list problems. A majority of our listers are on AOL and the messages were meant to inform them of the situation and solution. A great big thanks to those who assisted me. You know who you are! Thank you for your understanding. Milli Gould List Admin.

    1. [GARDNER] AOL solution
    2. The problem is that AOL 6.0 is converting our letters into HTML format and Rootsweb servers bounce it. To correct the problem: 1. Type your email as usual. 2. Put the curser in the text box then right click the mouse 3. Click on "Select All" which highlights everything 4. Right click the mouse again 5. Click on text and then on normal 6. Left click on the screen to set it and then send It takes less than 5 seconds, but it works. Milli

    2. Hi, Some of our subscribers, as well as myself, using AOL, are having problems with sending messages to the list. We are receiving but can't send. I've been on the phone with Rootsweb and AOL for the past two days, and it's an AOL problem. They are aware of it and hope to solve it. In the meantime, if you want to post to the list, use your Outlook Express, or minimize your AOL, go to your AOL account through Internet Explorer and send your list messages from there. I just tested it, it works. Be patient! Milli List Admin.
