    3. This is puzzling. If you do not know who either of the parents are of your ancestor, Joseph, how do you know who his ancestors are? (In this case, his immigrant ancestor in particular, of a century and a half earlier) [email protected] wrote: > During there research has any body run into a JOSEPH GARDNER b- March 17, > 1774. MA. 3. Mike, there were Lewis Gardners who went to SC, then to GA, and then to Henry Co., AL, and then to Drew Co., AR. I have been told that these are the clam from which my Lydia (Liddy) Gardner Thurman (b about 1813 in SC) descended; however, the Drew Co. bunch who connect back don't think so. However, my garndfather told me she was, and the Thurmans and Gardners were both in Henry Co., AL in 1850 and in Ashley/Drew Co., AR in 1860 in about the same location. Therefore, this seems to give credence to the family lore I've been told. Anyway, I would appreciate all of you NC Gardners keeping an eye out for my Lydia who could have conceivably migrated from the NC ones. Thanks, Beth [email protected] Drew Co., AR At 09:44 PM 6/13/01 -0500, you wrote: >Looking for the parents of LEWIS GARDNER bca1791 in NC...m REBECCA

    3. Hi, I am trying to find out information on my great-greatgrandmother Mary Gardner Gibson, wife of John B. Gibson of Pineville, La. At the time of Mary's death she was living in Pineville, La. Mary was born 4/8/1844 and died 12/27/1910. I think she might have been born in Georgia. Her children were J.E. Gibson, Henry C. Gibson, George W. Gibson, Mary Gibson, and William J.Gibson all from Louisiana. So is there any Gardners' out there from Georgia related to my Mary.

    3. Great idea of sorting out the NC Gardners. Mine in Cabarrus Co, NC were in the Presbyterian part of the county, so I take it they were Presbyterian. In Cabarrus Co. there is a German part and the other is Scots-Irish, so I take it mine were the Scots-Irish. Cathi Gardners NC>MS>Henderson Co, TX by 1848

    3. Merry Lynn. Here in NC they pronounce it "Merlin" which I find most annoying but can't seem to break them of it. People can look at a paper with my name printed clearly on it and still write Marilyn. Had a teacher who called me Marlene and one who called me Gladys (don't ask). It is all my Mother's fault, really. 3. I am the 4th Generation descendant of the Gardner of my line who was born in North Carolina, in 1805. He, John Lucian Gardner, was the 6th Generation descendant of the 1623 Immigrant Richard Gardner. Richard Gardner was an immigrant youth, accompanying his family from England to Cape Ann with a group sent (sailing on the Zuch Phenix) to establish the colony. His father, Thomas Gardner, was commissioned, as "The Planter," to oversee the growing of provisions for the new fishing colony said to be intended for delivery of fish early in the season for the benefit of the business enterprise of England.

I didn't have a chance to look at the other volumes. Author: Anderson, Robert Charles, 1944- Title: The great migration begins : immigrants to New England, 1620-1633 / Robert Charles Anderson.
