In the book A NORTH GEORGIA JOURNAL OF HISTORY by Olin Jackson there is a copy of the 1836 tax digest for Rabun County. Some of the names of the tax payers are listed under the title DOUBLE TAXED and there is no land listed for them. Does anyone know what Double Taxed means? Glenda
