    2. My g-g-g-grandfather moved to Rabun County in the mid 1820's from NC. There are still a few of the family still in the area and a lot are buried there. I am interested in Gillespie's and related families. Have some info on the family but always open to receive, and pass on, info as it becomes available. Thanks! Tom Gillespie, Jr. Jonesboro, GA

    3. Tom, The Gillespie family is mentioned in at least one of the books available for purchase at the Rabun County Historical Society. I bought all three books for my Daddy for Father's Day and they have been a big hit with him. I went to school with some Gillespies in Rabun County in the early 1960's. I also noticed in the "People" book that Gillespies and McCurrys were connected. I just found that article this afternoon while reading some of the book to my Dad. I have McCurry connections as well as McClure, Ledford and Stockton. I don't have the three books in front of me now and don't remember the full titles, but generally they are the "Sketches", PIctorial History" and "People" books. I think they are excellent sources for research in Rabun County. Pam McClure TGille6770@aol.com wrote: My g-g-g-grandfather moved to Rabun County in the mid 1820's from NC.
