I am looking for information regarding the KENDRICKS/KENDRIX family of Rabun County, GA. The 1880 Census lists Willie M. Kendrick (37 yo farmer), wife Martha M. Kendrick (28 yo) , and daughter Margaret Kendrick (9 yo) living in Stonepile District. I am looking for Martha Lou Ella Kendrix (1871-1913), my g-grandmother, who married Julius Duncan Taylor, also of Stonepile District, s/o Charles Landrum Taylor and Matilda Vandiver. Julius and "Ella" were married sometime prior to 1892, when their oldest daughter, my grandmother Bessie, was born. Is is possible that Margaret Kendrick is the same as Martha Lou? It seems there were not many Kendricks in Rabun County. It was never clear what her name was, I always knew her as Ella but recenlt saw her referred to as Martha Lou. Her headstone in Old Salem Cemetery (near Lake Burton) reads "ELLA KENDRIX" and the graves of some of her children are inscribed "son of J.D. and Eller". Any help would be appreciated.
