A new USGenWeb Project is starting with GA taking the lead on it. Like the Marriage, Census, and Map Projects, this one is for transcribing and placing on line accurate transcriptions of the Death Indexes. Until an account can be received the initial pages are located at: http://www.rootsweb.com/~gadecatu/deathindex/index.html If you have the GA Death Index or access to it, please help us out by volunteering to transcribe one of the years. Also, with this just starting out volunteers are also going to be needed to act as State Coordinators. As of right now, only 1 state (Georgia) has a CC and only 1 year has been assigned (1919). Everything else is up for grabs, so to speak. All transcriptions will be placed in the archives for storage. Please pass this on to other lists so that the word can get out. Have a good night and happy hunting. Denise Kirkland Smiley Decatur Co., GAGenWeb CC GAGenWeb Unknown Queries CC USGenWeb Death Index Project CC ==== GAGEN Mailing List ==== Got a problem?
