To All, Here is the latest research on Alfred Dockins born in 1800 in NC. A "Map Guide to Federal Censuses 1790-1920" by William Thorndale and William Dollarhide contains maps containing both the current counties and the counties as they were at the time of the census. Based on the location of the NC county with respect to Rabun County GA, here are the counties that, in my opinion, need to be researched to see if Alfred Dockins lived in them at the time of the census for the years 1800-1820. Alfred is listed on the Rabun county 1830 census. 1800 - Buncombe 1810 - Buncombe 1820 - Buncombe Haywood The same book provides information for census data from SC. 1800 - Pendleton Abbeville Edgefield 1810 - 1850 Pendleton Abbeville Edgefield I think that Alfred and his family are listed somewhere on the above censuses.
