Captain Samuel M. Beck, b. 1826 m. Martha Wall. They are from Rabun Co., GA. He was the son of Colonel Samuel Beck, b.1796 who married Tabitha Langston in 1811. He was the son of Jeffery Beck, Jr. b. 1752 and married Mary McDaniel in Guilford Co., NC in 1771. He was the son of Jeffery Beck, Sr. and his second wife Susannah Gibbs. First wife was Lydia Phillips. He was the son of Henry Beck, Jr. and Ann Daughtry. He was the son of Henry Beck , Sr. who came to America at the age of 18 from Herefordshire, England about 1617. His ship capsized on the rocks off the Atlantic Coast and he swam ashore. Henry Beck, Sr. married Ann Frost. Now, please I don't want anyone to accuse me of plagarism, this came from the book "Rabun County and it's People, Vol I" published in 1992 and the article was submitted by Dorothy Beck. I just remember how it is to get excited when you find something and thought I would share this with you.
