Col. Samuel Beck recruited a company of 20 men from Rabun Co. to fight in the Florida Indian War. This group enlisted on 5 Oct. 1837 for six months and was discharged on the 7th day of May 1838. They were assigned to Company B, 1st Regiment, 1st Brigade, of the Georgia Mounted Volunteers. I have the names of 8 of these men, including Col. Beck, and would like to identify the others. Those known to have participated were: John Beck (son of Col. Samuel Beck); James Bleckley, Alfred Blalock, Edward Sitton, Jasper Hopper, James Beck (son of Solomon Beck); and William D. Langston. Bounty land was awarded for this service. Can anyone give me the names of others who served with this company? Marian Miller
