    3. Greetings: I need Help! I have a strong hunch about this, it adds up, but I have no proof as yet. How would one get a copy of The Benton Co., Arkansas Atlas of 1903 which carried the history of the William Elisha Garrett family, along with a picture of the family home in 1903-furnished by Mr. Alvin Seamster of Garfield, Arkansas in 1964. All I need is the story about the Benton County Garrett family. I am beginning to believe that William Elisha Garrett, born April 14, 1840 in North Carolina, died December 04, 1910 in Benton County, Arkansas was my great great grandfather. I have reason to believe that his first wife was Caroline Daniels (possibly Asley C. Daniels) both would have been born in Georgia. William Elisha Garrett, son of James Henry Garrett & Susannah Mashburn. William & his parents are on the 1850 Union County, Georgia Census & also on 1860 Census, Fannin Co., Ga. In the 1860 Fannin County Census he is listed as Elisha, not William Elisha & 20 years old & a farmer. William founded Springtown, Arkansas & my great grandfather Benjamin F. Garrett was born in Springtown, Arkansas on October 19, 1870. Also Benjamin married Susan Lewis in Benton Co. ,Arkansas by W. M. Garrett, J. P. All I can document is that William Elisha Garrett b: 14 Apr. 1840 N.C. d: 4 Dec. 1910 Benton Co., Ark. Married 6 Apr. 1871 Benton Co., Ar. to a Mrs. Mary Ellen Culberson Starke. He homesteaded 101 acres of land just north of Springtown in Section 6, Twp. 18 North of Range 32 West in July 1870 (Book H, page 403). Source is The Mashburn Family History Book, of which I was sent a copy of a part with the Union County Garretts. This would have made William 31 years old if this had been his first marriage. Plenty of time for him to have been married first to Caroline/Asley C. Daniels & had a child by the name of Benjamin Franklin Garrett b: October 19, 1870. I have no proof yet. I need to either be able to prove this theory or disapprove it completely. Thank You Gayle M. Garrett <garr@ruraltel.net>
