    1. HOLLOWAYs in Rabun Co. GA
    2. Looking for the father and siblings of John HOLLOWAY [HALLOWAY], my ggggrandfather. Family accounts indicate that John HOLLOWAY was born in north Georgia, specifically in Rabun County GA in 1800, and that his father was probably Solomon, b. abt 1775 NC (?). Because Rabun County was not formed until 1819, there may be another county(ies) involved. Where do I need to look? I found no documentation until John married Dorcas BECK, b. 1809 SC, in Hall County GA in 1823 and he and his brother [Miles] Solomon HOLLOWAY b. 1805 GA moved with the BECK family (Isaiah BECK Sr, b. abt 1778 NC) and were on the 1830 census in Carroll County; John were on the 1840 census in Cobb County and on the 1850 and 1860 census in Carroll County GA. By 1870 John had moved to Alabama and was on the census in Randolph County AL where he died before the 1880 census. Dorcas died abt 1885. He and Dorcas were buried on their farm in Wedowee, Randolph County AL. I would appreciate any information or! suggestions about John and his early life in north Georgia or any sources of documentation for the area which would become Rabun County. Thanks.
