I'm new to the Rabun List. I am researching Free's, Garland, and Woodall from Rabun County, Ga. My ggreat grandfather was Simeon Free, born abt. 1813 in Pendleton District, Anderson, SC. He was married to Margaret Garland, daughter of Daniel Garland and Mary Elizabeth"Polly Ann" Grange. Their son Jesse Lafayette "Fate" Free was my great grandfather. One of Fate's son's was well known for his moonshining, Simmie Free. He was written about in Foxfire book #3. Also researching Woodall's. My great grandmother was Hannah Amanda Woodall, born June 3, 1856 daughter of Rev. Joseph Taylor Woodall and Elizabeth Watkins. She married David Squire Parker.
