Lula (or Lucinda) MIXON became pregnant out of wedlock. Her mother, Mary Elizabeth MIXON, took her daughter from their home in Alabama to Georgia (good possibility it was Polk County) to have the baby. When they returned to Alabama, the baby was passed off as being that of the grandmother and he was raised as his own mother's brother. The child was Alexander Hamilton MIXON b. March 22, 1887.
