    1. [GAPOLK-L] ISBELL, PITTMAN, HACKNEY, WADE
    2. M.J. & L.I. Ashear
    3. Jeremiah Marion ISBELL and Matilida WADE had 13 children, most of whom were born in Esom Hill/Cedartown, Polk County, GA. Many are buried there. Their youngest, Sampson Jeremiah ISBELL was born in Cedartown in 1871. In 1890 he married Autha Emmett PITTMAN, eldest daughter of John Eli PITTMAN and Carolyn Hazeltine HACKNEY. Autha and her mother were both (purportedly) born in Cedartown. I'm still searching for the birthplace and parents of John Eli PITTMAN. John PITTMAN served in the Confederate Army; Company D, 20th Regiment, GA Volunteers (Polk County). He was captured just before the company surrendered (at Appomatix, I believe). I would welcome any information on the ISBELL, PITTMAN, HACKNEY, WADE and related families. Also, if you have any information on the 20th Regiment, GA Volunteers - Company D in particular, I'd love to have that as well. I'm willing to share whatever information I have that you may be interested in. Lila Ashear (great granddaughter of Autha Emmett PITTMAN and Sampson Jeremiah ISBELL) [email protected]
