    3. Alton, According to the New and Complete Gazetteer of the U.S. (1854), p.1321, YELLOWSTONE, was a post-office in Paulding County, Georgia. In the 1860 U. S. Census my great-great-grandfather was enumerated as residing in the 1074th Militia District GM of the Yellowstone District of Polk Co., GA. I have a listing somewhere stating when the Yellowstone Post Office was activated and deactivated; however, I'm unable to lay my hands upon it at the moment.
