I am searching for Ward ancestors who would have been in Polk County 1800 to 1828. A friend of my uncle's told me last night that Gene told him they came to AL from Polk Co., Ga. (Gene has passed from us). Would Polk county been part of a different county then? 1875 is where your site seems to begin. How would I find records for this area from that time span?
