The RAPER family is thought to have lived first in the Cedartown area. The family has a strong Cherokee oral tradition and sorting the individuals is difficult. Mary Jane RAPER married George W. HINDMAN. Dates and locations are not known but they lived on and worked a farm. She had what is described as "carrot top hair" meaning very red. Such is not conducive to Native American hair coloration but has been confirmed by several family members. Nancy Malinda RAPER, May 7, 1870, Aug 19, 1930 married William R. ROSE 1863 - Jun 6, 1915. At one time, the family lived in Rome where the Rome Tribune News Parking Lot is located. Most of the family was employed by the Rome Hosiery Mill, presently the Rome Tribune. Many Rose Families remain in the Rome. Any leads on this family will be appreciated, thank you, Rosebird
