Dear List Members, Having recently discovered that my gggrandmother Sallie Niblet had been previously married to a man named John Price (location of marriage unknown, but surely in NW GA or NE AL), who died as a CSA soldier in Knoxville, TN in 1862, I was able to locate her in the 1870 Census, Cedartown PO, listed as Sally Price, living with her daughter Mary in the household of a James Dennis. She's listed as "Domestic Servent." Two years later she married my ggrandfather Wm. Niblet in nearby Tecumseh, AL. I've been trying my best to find out what Sallie's maiden name was before she married John Price, but I can't seem to find a marriage record in any of the counties in the region. However, I don't have access to Polk marriage records in my local library. Ironically, I was just up there doing research recently, but that was before I found out about Sallie's first marriage to John Price (25th AL Infantry, CSA, formed in Calhoun Co. AL). Would anyone know if there's a marriage record for a John Price and a Sallie among the Polk Co. records? This marriage would have taken place around 1860. Oh, and while I'm at it, would anyone know who this James Dennis is? Sincerely, --Mark
