    1. [GAPOLK] Turner & Locklear
    2. I am Jane Strickland, and I joined the Polk county list seeking information on the Turner & Locklear families. Jesse LOCKLEAR m. Mary TURNER and they moved from Fayette CO GA to Polk Co, They were followed sometime between 1850 & 1860 by her brother Thomas and his family. Thomas and Lucinda Turner had 3 sons who joined the CSA at Van Wert: Kenion (Kinnon/Kenyon/Kennon), Andrew J, and George W. I believe Andrew J was married, but don't have connection between the Andrew Js to prove he was mine. George W was killed at Gettysburn, and Andrew J was killed at Petersburg. Kenion was wounded at Gettysburg, and served the remainder of his service at a hospital at "Emory". Thomas was listed in the Joe Brown Census in the State Guard as a Sgt. After the war, the Thomas Turner family moved to Randolph Co, Ala, and Kenion (my line) moved back to Fayette Co, GA. Jane Turner Strickland
