    3. Yes, Clarence. She did at least two more books. Marriage Book "C" 1883-1894 and Marriage Book "D" 1894-1907. I have both of them, plus I live near Cedartown and can do limited look-ups. Just let me know what you are looking for and I will check between packing and getting ready to move. Also check out the Polk County, GA AHGP web site, there are many marriages listed on the site at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/polk/ Happy Searching! 2. Hello, I have much important information from this message board and surely appreciate those who maintain it. In about two weeks, I'll be in Atlanta, Georgia with my husband. I'm interested in looking at the old Paulding County tax records. Last time I was there I was told the taxes are housed in the old county jail. Is this true and how would I gain access to the records? Thanks, Betty Nelson

    3. Did you volunteer to survey one of the cemeteries in Polk County? Have you finished the survey, but have not turned it in? Maybe the weather has been too hot or you had other problems and could not get the survey(s) done. Then please let us know where you stand with the survey(s). We need to get them all in as soon as possible so they can be typed and verified. If you have not volunteered, but would like to help with the surveys, we still have several cemeteries that have not been assigned. Check out the cemetery list at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/polk/Cemeteries.html We will be glad to help you with getting started and the guidelines. (Cemeteries must be recored in rows and clearly marked as such.) If there is enough interest, we will have a class on cemetery surveys. 3. Mary, The Polk County Cemetery Preservation Committee is compiling a new Polk County Cemetery Book and we hope to have it ready to sell some time next year. We have already found several cemeteries that have not been listed in any previous book or online. As of today, June 24, 2005, we have about 70 cemeteries surveyed out of the more than 105. We still have the larger ones to survey - Greenwood, North View, Polk Memory Gardens and Rose Hill. A list of the cemeteries can be found at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/polk/Cemeteries.html Many of the obituaries on line on the Polk County, GA GenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~gapolk/ and at Polk County, GA AHGP http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/county/polk/ The Cedartown Library has the older copies of the Newspapers on Microfilm. Don't know how soon I will be able to get to the library, but if no one else has volunteered, I will be happy to do a look-up for you. Just write me offline at elantr@earthlink.net I also have a copy of the Haralson County, GA Cemetery Book and a copy of the Polk County, GA Funeral Home Records 1944 to 1949 from Biasner & Lee Borders Funeral Homes. Will be glad to go limited look-ups in them.
