Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn Davis Bowen of Knoxville; grandchild, Sarah Rachel Bowen of Knoxville; nieces, Judy Barnes Watson, and Janice Barnes Nelson; nephew, Thomas Neal Barnes. She was born March 18, 1915 in Cedartown, daughter of the late John B. and Louana Peterson. She worked for Southern Bakery and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Conyers. Surviving are: brother, Herbert Peterson of Jonesboro; sisters, Hazel Barrett of Douglasville and Mary Elizabeth Bowen of Cedartown. Services were held Thursday, April 15, at 11 a.m., in the Rosehaven Chapel with Rev. Randy Check officiating. Interment followed in the Northview Cemetery. He was born September 8, 1940 in Cedartown and was a member of the Douglasville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a retired Master Electrician with White Electric Company. He was also a member of IBEW #613 in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gartrell J. and Myra Cox. Survivors include his wife, Fay Cox of Douglasville; son, Mark Cox of Douglasville; daughter, Jill Jordan of Douglasville; brothers, Keith and Phillip Cox of Cedartown; sister, Pat Bishop of Felton; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 28 at 2 p.m. in the Rose Haven Chapel with Rev. Larry Beech officiating. Interment followed in the Rose Haven Cemetery.
