She was the daughter of the late Logan and Lelia Jones Newman. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedartown, the Garden Club and the Quilting Club. She worked for Polk General Hospital in Cedartown and was in the W.A.C.S. Nursing Corps in W.W. II. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held Saturday, Dec. 27, at 2 p.m. at Oakdale Cemetery with Rev. Dean Glacken officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice at: P. O. She was born Dec. 15, 1946 in Floyd County. She was a hairdresser and a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Elmer and Louise Gribble Roberson. Survivors include her husband, David King of Aragon; sons, Richard Scott Argo of Rome and Jon Kyle Argo of Aragon; 1 granddaughter. Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 12 at 2 p.m. from the Freeman Harris Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Davis and Rev. Jeff Hughes officiating. Interment followed in the Aragon Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Robinson, Ray Robinson, Danny Ashley, Billy Bennett, Ricky Bennett and Tony Brooks. The Freeman Harris Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Stephens stephens2247@bellsouth.net October 17, 2006, 10:38 am The Cedartown Standard, Cedartown, GA., February 27, 2003 James (Jimmy) Barron King, 87, of 5232 Rivoli Drive, Macon, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003. He was a native of Cedartown and the son of the late James Samuel King and Cora Wood King. He lived in Macon for 57 years. Mr. King is the brother of Sara Casy of Cedartown who passed away Sunday. Mr. King was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Allene Cross King; sons, Barry King of Mini Hill, NC, Allen King of Macon, and Mike King of Peachtree City; sister, Ann Smith of Ft. Pierce, FL; brother, Sammy King of Cedartown; and 7 grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, February 25 at 4 p.m. in the Madison City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. The Simmons Funeral Home of Madison, GA, was in charge of the arrangements. He attended Fairview Presbyterian Church, was a Mason, and was the retired owner of the Richmond Barber Shop. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aline Denman Kight and his father, Kenneth A. Kight. Survivors include sons, William Duke Kight of Williston, SC, Rodney Kight and Ceil Kight of North Augusta; daughters, Melinda Carter of Augusta, Libby Rushing of Lincolnton, GA and Coni Bullington of St. Petersburg, FL; brother, Leon Kight of Virginia Beach, VA; 17 grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Funeral services were scheduled for Friday, April 25, at 2 p.m. from the Stephen D. Posey Funeral Home with Rev. Robert F. Fuller officiating and interment in Sunset Memory Gardens. The Stephen D. Survivors include: daughters, Dean Parker and Maxine Neubert; brother, Roy Wyatt; sister, Margaret Lucille Pruitt; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. Franklin Treadwell officiating. Interment followed in New Harmondy cemetery.
