    1. [GAPOLK-L] Peek, Brewer Families
    2. Carole Johnson
    3. I have posted before, trying to find information regarding Joel BREWER, Ordinary of Polk County from 1870 until his death in 1898. His wife was Nancy PEEK (PEAK). She died in 1870. Sarah Ann PEAK married James BRADLEY in 1847, Amanda PEEK married William MCGRADY in 1848, Frances PEEK married John H. MCGRADY in 1845. Since Joel and Nancy BREWER had daugthers named Sarah, Frances and Amanda; and the marriage dates make them possible candidates for Nancy's sisters. Both MCGRADY families lived near BREWER children in the 1880 census. Agewise, the most likely candidate for father of the possible PEEK sisters is William PEEK (1799-1884). William PEEK lived near Joel BREWER in the 1880 census. Does anyone have any information on the PEEK, BREWER, MCGRADY or BRADLEY families?

    1. [GAPOLK-L] MORE MARRIAGES AND MORE ADDED TO PAULDING COUNTY PAGES
    2. B & C Pierce
    3. Good Morning to All: "COME ON OUT TO OUR PAULDING PAGES.... " I have added 167 more marriage records to the Paulding County pages, and I have alot more to add, however some of them have to be verified against Court House records. I have also started a Social Security Death Index Listing which I will continue posting to, for the present, only the Baxter's in Paulding County have been added. Please check out the new additions and give feedback as to what else you would like to see. In addition, I am working on the 1850 Head of Household Census, which I hope to make available sometime this week. I have been out of town for a couple of weeks, so I am playing catch=up. PSST: Just a hint for some of you researching from afar -- make sure you check out those Polk and Cherokee pages, because of the county recreations, sometimes you will find people in those counties when you thought they should have been in Paulding. (Scott and Swampfox will be kind to you on your journey's, they have great pages). Thanks for your time. 3. There are two excellent volumes listing all known cemetaries in Polk County. I do not own them, but have access to them at the Cobb County Library in Marietta, Georgia. I am planning a visit there Monday or Tuesday of next week and would be happy to do look-ups, if you can wait. My ancestors are buried at the Bethlehem Cemetary at Fish Creek. If any one has any information on the Brewer's buried there or can make a connection of William Peak to Nancy Peak, please let me know. 3. Hi, Researchers-- Sorry if you have already read my post on SE-TN list.-- I didn't realize there was a specific Polk Co. list until just now! I received some wonderful help tonite from Darlene (from the Murray Co. list) but I still want to post here as well. You never know what someone else may have as well. Darlene has just been terrific!! ~ Here is info. on the people I am looking for -- Condrado R. Sampson - b. 1892 possibly in NC; d. Mar. 1955; b. in Dill Cemetery, Old Fort (Polk Co.),TN. Condrado m. Hattie Harriet Humpery - b. 1874; d. Her bible records blew away in the tornado. When the birth certificate from the state arrived, she said the date was wrong. The date she gives is Dec. 18, 1914. I'm not sure of what the state says, but it makes her a few years older. And, the way she obtained a birth certificate was by her daughter & one of her brothers taking their birth certificates & her on a trip to Polk Co. & a worker searched thru the census info, but she always says the info. is wrong. -- She married Russell Deverell Jan. 8, 1934.) {Condrado & Hattie also had 6 sons - not much info} Will - b. (He was originally from Whitfield Co., GA, but I don't see a list for that particular county in GA.) Thank yall so much!! ~ Cami McCraw ~

    1. [GAPOLK-L] HELP PLEASE ! WAS THIS "J. R. GRIBBLE - ROCKMART, GA A PERSON OR BUSINESS?"
    2. B & C Pierce
    3. Hello to all again. I was entering the marriages from my research in Paulding County to the new page for Paulding Co. Marriages and my husband was scanning old photographs from his family and we keep running across pictures that have J. R. Gribble, Rockmart, GA stamped on the front of the picture (almost embossed look). Does anyone know anything about J. R. GRIBBLE - was this a photograph store in Rockmart or was he the photographer? I know some of these pictures are early 1900's and some are maybe earlier than that. If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know (or if you have some stamped that way would you let me know). If he owned a photograph store, then what would have happened to the negs. when it closed up? Any help on this would be appreciated -- its one of those things that you get on your mind and keep wondering about. Thanks, Brenda Pierce PS -- I had an error on the Polk links from the Paulding Pages, but I have corrected and reloaded the page. Sorry about the error. I will try to have my marriages completed and posted to the page tonight.
