    3. In my frustration looking for my MOORE roots in Polk County, GA, I have decided to start looking for the female collateral lines: WILSON: Samantha Wilson married Owen Moore probably in the 1870s Mary Ida Wilson married his brother William Moore probably in the 1880s. BRADSHAW: Amanda Bradshaw (1848-1933) married Robert Moore born about 1870. Sara Sue Bradshaw (3-6-1876 to 9-30-1954) married Robert's nephew, Rufus Lee Moore (1872-1947) HITCHCOCK: Millard Hitchcock married Sarah A. Moore. He is the son of J.F. and Martha A. Hitchcock. They were both born about 1855-6. Their marriage took place probably in the 1870s. If you think that any of these might be a connection to your lines, please let me know!! Maybe a lost sister or something? Thanks!! 3. Hi, I'd like to see if someone has information about a bunch of Witcher orphans living in Polk Co., in 1850. Daniel Roberts had been appointed guardian. The children were all born in Tennessee. William J. Witcher, my g-g grandfather; James, 17, Rhoda Ann 15, and Elizabeth 12. William J. Witcher married a N.C. in Georgia, and settled in Tangipahoa, Louisiana. His first child was born in 1856, Mary Elizabeth. He was a carpenter. I am looking for the Witcher parents, any relationship to the Roberts, and William J. Witcher's wife's name. She was probably a neighbor girl in Polk Co. If the queries on the Hales,a nd Owens are families who settled in Heflin, AL, I have information for them. Also, if the Hoopers were in Al and then OK, I have some information there also. Thank you. Sandy Otos

    1. [GAPOLK-L] WARNING
    2. Ken Sartin
    3. I am posting this to warn others about problems with ; Census Microfilm Expeditors 476 E. South Temple , Suite 4 Salt Lake City , UT 84111 website ; www.censusmicrofilm.com e-mail ; [email protected] and ; [email protected] I was lured to order several microfilm copies from this company with "guarantees" of "speedy delivery" and "low price" . My order was placed in October of 1998 and as of this posting I have not received the order or a refund after numerous contacts with Steven Jensen at this firm . In his occasional replies he repeatedly gave false information to me as to the status of the order and cashed the check when mentioned stopping payment on it .I have copies of all documents and correspondences for those interested . Complaints have been filed with the Better Business Bureau and the United States Postal Inspectors , they have informed me that even they can't order this company to give a refund , but may seek criminal charges . I guess small claims court is next . If you are seeking genealogy resources......consider my experiences with this "Firm". Thank you , Kenneth Sartin researching ; Sartin , Sartain , Sarton , Sarten , Sardin etc. etc.

    1. [GAPOLK-L] TANNER
    2. Hi Patsy; I have not had a chance to do anything on the TANNERS, but I would love to collect some information. My Husband's grandmother was Julia TANNER, daughter of K.T.Tanner and Fannie Mae RUTLEDGE. The reason we have so little information is because Julia died when PaPa Woody was 3years old. He is still living. Julia died May 23, 1930. Her husband was John Henry WOODY. I know the K in K.T. TANNER stands for Kenny. I also know that she had a sister that married a ROUL, and one that married a LEE. Julia is buried at Talpoosa East church. This is in Talpoosa GA. Thank You Judy Woody
