    2. Richard Myrick born abt 1785 VA, died abt 1866 Pike Co GA married Nancy D. unknown last name. Richard Myrick Number: 150 District: FOURTH DISTRICT, FOURTH SECTION, CHEROKEE Residence: Madden's County: Pike Comment: soldier.; granted previous to the first day of January, 1838 Richard Myrick probably came to Warren Co GA with his brother William G.Myrick in the early 1820s. Richard sold land in Warren Co GA in 1813-1814 Deed Book D page 142. He is also listed in Warren Co GA Deed Book in 1819 with brothers. (Information provided to Richard Myrick by John Myrick of Calif.) Pike Co GA was created by Act of Dec 9, 1822 from Monroe Co. First officers were comissioned Feb 25, 1823, were: Willis Whatley, Sheriff; John H. Broadnax, Clk Sup Ct.; William Myrick, Clk Inf. Ct.; Joel Moore, Coroner, James Lowery, Surveyor. Richard Myrick was on Pike Co GA census 1830, 1840, 1850, and 1860. 1840 census: Richard Myrick, 1 male 5 to 10, 2 males 15-20, 3 males 20-30, 1 male 50-60 (Richard was about 55 in 1840). Females 2 5-10, 1 10-15, 2 20-30, 1 40-50 (this would be Nancy who was abt 50 in 1840). 1850 Pike Co GA Richard 65, Nancy 60, Sina 22, Amanda 20, Sarah 16. Nathaniel was living with Eli Whaley family. Other Myrick families: Josiah and Martha Roberts and infant Nancy., William G. and Carolyn Joiner with children Mary, Amanda, and Rebecca. Richard's will is dated 11 June 1863. Prob died in 1866. Will Book C, pages 402-403, Pike Co., Zebulon, GA, Probate Judge Office. Pike County, Georgia In the name of God, I, Richard Myrick, of the said county and the state aforesaid being weak in body health but of sound and aspiring mind and memory and desirous of dispersing of the estate which he has pleased God to obey me do make , establish and declare this my last will and testament hereby replacing all former wills made by me. 1st I direct that all my just debts be paid as soon as possible. I desire my body to be interred in a becoming manner. 2nd I give, devise and bequeath one share of my estate to them and their heirs and assigns forever unto my grandchildren, John W. Gammell, Martha H. Gammell, George Ann Gammell, Richard Gammell, William Gammell, Josiah Gammell and Hagerman T. Gammell, children of my deceased daughter, Dillie Ann Gammell and the child whose name and sex are unknown to me of my deceased granddaughter, Mary Knight, daughter of Dollie Ann Gammell of the State of Arkansas. 3rd I give, devise and bequeath unto my daughter, Martha Elizabeth, wife of John H. Bryon, one share of my estate subject to the debts or control of her present or future husband during her natural live and after her death to her children, their heirs and assigns forever. 4th I give, devise and bequeath unto y daughter, Luisiana Myrick, one share of my estate and also one Negro girl slave, named Nane, about 13 years of age and her issue and 1 bed and bed clothes and being not subject to the debts or control of any future husband and should she die without rearing any child or children then the same be served back to my estate. 5th I give, devise and bequeath unto my daughter, Malvina Amanda Gammell, wife of George L. Gammell, of the State of Arkansas, one share of my estate not subject to the debts or control of any further husband and in case of her death without leaving a child or children the same revert back to my estate. 6th I give, devise and bequeath one share of my estate unto my daughter, Rebecca M. Ingram, wife of Benjamin Ingram, of Texas. Not subject to the debt and control of present and future husband during her natural live and after her children or child and hereby appoint my brother, Howell Harvill Myrick of Texas, her trustee. 7th I give, devise and bequeath one share of my estate unto my daughter Sarah Melissa Wilson, wife of William Wallace Wilson, of the state of Alabama, not subject to the debt or control of her present or any future husbands after her death or to her child or children, I appoint my son, William K. Myrick her trustee. 8th I give and bequeath unto Laura Ann Calloway, widow of my son, John W. Myrick, the sum of $5.00 (five dollars). 9th I give and bequeath unto my son, William K. Myrick, the sum of $5.00 (five dollars). 10th I give, devise and bequeath one share of my estate unto Caroline E. Myrick, wife of my son William K. Myrick, not subject to the debts or control of her present or any future husband, during her natural life and after. To her children, her heirs, assigns forever, and hereby appoint William K. Myrick, her trustee. 11th I give and bequeath my son, Josiah Myrick of the State of Texas, $5.00. 12th I give, devise and bequeath one share of my estate unto Martha Myrick, wife of said Josiah Myrick, not subject to the debt and control of her present and any future husband during her natural life and after her death to her child and children their heirs and assigns forever and appoint my brother, Howell Harvill Myrick, of Texas her trustee. 13th I give and bequeath unto my son, Nathaniel A. Myrick, of Texas the sum of $5.00. 14th I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Myrick, wife of said Nathaniel A. Myrick, the sum of $100.00. 15th Whereas I have advanced the sum of $700.00 said amount is to be deducted from the share in close one thenth bequeathed to Caroline E. Myrick and her children. 16th I will that the daughter and daughters-in-law shall share and share alike at the death of the parent and should any of them die before the parent leaving a child or children shall be entitled to receive that portion of deceased parent. 17th Whereas, in this my last will, the name of a trustee is not mentioned for and in behalf a wife or our children I appoint my son William K. Myrick trustee, therefore, I nominate and and appoint my son William K. Myrick and my friend Bolling S. Harris executor of this my last will and testament, and herefore I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 11 day of June, in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty Three.
