Rivers At Milner Mr. B.G. Rivers died at his home at Milner Thursday afternoon at the age of 81 years, from the infirmities of old age. Funeral services were held at Milner Baptist church Friday afternoon conducted by Rev. J.C. Baird and his remains were interred in the church cemetery. He was one of Milner's most respected and highly esteemed citizens and well known over the county and the news of his death was received by his numerous friends with regrets. He was a veteran of the civil war, having served the full four years of that memorable conflict. He was a private in the 44th Ga. Regiment and lost his eyesight several years ago as a result of a wound received in the war, being totally blind at the time of his death. The following children and his wife survive him: Mr. J.B. Rivers of Griffin; Mr. A.B. Rivers, of Jonesboro; Mr. E. Rivers of Atlanta; Mrs. F.E. Starr, of Dublin; Mrs. Florence O'Brien, of Augusta; Mr. Homer Rivers, Atlanta. Rivers Dies Sunday Morning Forced By Ill Health to Retire From Business Life, His Death Comes After Long Illness A.B. Rivers died at his home in Jonesboro Sunday morning after a long illness. He was prominently identified with all interests for the upbuilding and welfare of his home town, as well as being a prominent in the business life until forced by ill health to retire. He was active in church affairs, having served as superintendent of the Sunday school for over 20 years. The lot where the Methodist church now stands was a gift from him. He was a man universally loved by all who knew him and numbered his friends by the scores all over the state. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Dr. T.M. Rivers, of the faculty of Johns Hopkins; A.B. Rivers, Jr., of Camp Gordon; one daughter, Sarah; two sisters, Mrs. Starr of Dublin; Mrs. O'Brien, of Charleston; two brothers, E.
