Makes sense to me. It's not the first death certificate to be wrong and won't be the last. I think what you've presented about the census is probably true. Were the Charles F. and Mrs. Elijah Martin children from the first wife? I am especially interested in the daughter as I am also related to the Martins and I have never been able to figure out the Elijah Martins buried in Milner. I know they are somehow connected to my Martins, but cannot for the life of me piece them together.
