Ross was married to Sarah Oliver on 11 December 1834 in Pike County, Georgia. They had 15 children. Of those were Charles (b. 1835) and Alexander Ross (b. 1856) Charles Ross (b 1835) and his wife Elizabeth Swint had a son, William A. Ross. William A. Ross was married twice. His first wife was Emma Izora Fisher. After her death in 1900 he married Susan E. Harris. Susan was in her 40's at the time of her marriage. Alexander Ross (b 1856) and his wife Lucretia Matilda Smith had a son, Samuel Arthur Ross. Samuel Arthur Ross was married to Lillie Ophelia Selena Buffington. Notes For William A. Ross: Barnesville News-Gazette June 15, 1933 Mr. W.A. Ross, 73, Dies At Lamar Home Sunday Funeral services for Mr. W.A. Ross, 73, were held from the New Hope Baptist Church in Pike county Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Brown, pastor of Milner Baptist church, officiated, assisted by Rev. Mr. Howard. Interment was in the churchyard. Mr. Ross, one of the most prominent farmers in Lamar county, died at his home at 1 o'clock Sunday afternoon, following a protracted illness. Mr. Ross had made his home in Lamar county all his life and was well known in Barnesville. In addition to his widow, Mrs. Susie Harris Ross, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Rogers of Griffin; a son H.G. Ross, of Galveston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. M.M. White and Mrs. S.E. Shackleford, of Griffin, and a brother J.T. Ross, of Griffin. Notes for Susan E. Living with grandmother, Susan Pyron Harris, on the 1880 Pike County, Georgia census. The Pike County Journal Friday, Sept. 20, 1935 Mrs. W.A. Ross, Aged 77, Passes At Milner Funeral Services for Mrs. W.A. Ross, who died late Saturday afternoon at Milner, were held from t[h]e New Hope Baptist church in Pike county Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Mr. Howard officiated. Interment was in the churchyard with Haisten Brothers, funeral directors, in charge. Mrs. Ross, who was 77 years of age, had been in declining health for several months prior to her death. She lived at Milner. Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. R.A. Farley and Mrs. J.W. Wilson of Zebulon; and two nephews, Emmett Lee of Milner, and J.W. Lee of Thomaston.
