However, the book picks up with Elizabeth and John Knight's parents, and their grandparents on their mother's side of the family. I will cover the settling of Knight Sr's estate as well. I go into a great deal of detail in the book and you will see and know the "relationships" quite well. Elizabeth moves into her brother's plantation home after her husband, Isaac, dies. She moves there to care for her orphaned grandchildren, the Gills. You will see the Gills on the Census as well. The Gills living on the Knight plantation are the children of Andrew "Jack" Gill and Mary Ann Perkerson Gill, Elizabeth's daughter and Matilda's sister. So, that makes John Knight[Jr], Matilda's uncle. John Knight was the administrator of the Gill estate, and the Gill children sue his estate after his death. The court testimony, as recorded, is included in the book. I think the book will help to answer a lot of your questions for you, and I would love for you to stay in touch. Please get back to me after you have read the book. Since this is my first endeavor, I would like to have your feedback. Also, the book is 600 pages, but I have volumes of binders with researched information. I don't have all the answers, but what I have I will be glad to share. I spent 7 years researching and writing this book, but I wasn't able to trace all the lines. (You'll see why when you see the book). I will look, but I don't believe I have developed Matilda's line. Yes, this is interesting. I hope you won't be offended, but I think I am finding some of my husband's distant cousins. If ancestry is right, Matilda is my husband's first cousin, 2x's removed. I hoped this would be the end result. Marilyn Hill-Sutton Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
