Ross who according to Census information was born in March of 1860 or 1861. He was a son of Charles Ross and his wife Elizabeth both of with are buried at New Hope Baptist Church. This family doesn't appear in Pike County until the 1900 Census, William A. Ross is living with his parents along with his oldest son Larris (spelled Lauris in the census)He is listed as widowed. On Oct 16, 1900 W. A. Ross married Susie Harris in Pike County, I believe she is Susan E. Harris, daughter of James Pyron Harris and Martha E. Smith, due to their ages they had no children. William A. Ross was alive when his son Larris died on May 2, 1926 as W.A. Ross is listed on the death certificate as the informant. This is also how I learned that his first wife was a Fisher. Larris Ross along some of William other children such as Ernest Ross are also buried at New Hope Church. None of the New Hope Church Transcriptions I have found list William A.! Ross or W. A. Ross his second wife Susie. William A. Ross and Susie E. Ross both appear in the 1920 Pike County Census but I have been unable to locate either in the 1930 Census. I have also not been able to locate a death certificate for either of them. Any information on William A. Ross and either of his wives would be greatly appreciated.
