In my Fincher book that is compiled by Ann Wilson Fincher it states: Mary Henrietta Carter (daughter of Louisa F.) was b. ca 1848 in Pike Co., GA; m. ca 1865 Pike Co., GA Thomas Jefferson Barrett (B. ca 1849 GA), son of James Barrett (b. Sept. 9, 1810 NC) and Elizabeth B. Walker (b. ca 1816 GA), and grandson of William Barrett (b. June 21, 1786 NC; d. Sept. 29, 1872 in Pike Co., GA), and Mary "Melsey" James (b. Feb. 17, 1789 in NC; d. June 24, 1872 in Pike Co., GA) - 4 known children: 1. James Barrett; 2. Luther Barrett m. Eva Byrd and had Thomas, Evelyn and Ralph; 3. Comer Barrett m. Madge ? and had Joseph Barrett; 4. Vennie Leal Barrett m. ? Jones and had Mary Jones and Lillian Jones. My Holland Barrett, (m. Simon Slade) was daughter to William Barrett and Mary James. Holland and Simon are buried in Fincher Cemetery, Meansville, Pike Co., GA. I had Simon's grave marked as a veteran of the War of 1812.
