    3. I have read that Monroe County was formed in 1821 from Indian lands and that Pike County was formed in 1822 from Monroe. Should I assume there were no white settlers in the area that became Pike County before 1821? Is there a particular county where early settlers to Pike County came from? Thank for any help-- Carolyn Smotherman May I help you in Bedford County, TN?

    3. Try checking the land lotteries http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/galand.htm Monroe was divided in the 1821 land lottery http://www.usgwarchives.net/ga/pike/deeds.html If they drew land in the lotteries, it listed their county of residence.
