    1. Re: ques: regarding Jackson burials at Hollonville Cemetery
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/hd.2ADE/827.2.1 Message Board Post: Elaine....there is a cemetery adjacent to Shoal Creek Baptist Church right at the intersection of Hollonville road. I believe Bill Russell did the inventory of this cemetery and the names should be listed on the Pike Co. GA GenWEB site. If my memory serves me well, some graves are fairly recent, but I am certain that none of them go back as far as 1827 when the "Church at Flat Rock", later renamed Shoal Creek Baptist Church was established. As a matter of fact, in the deed by Martin Sims to the "Flat Rock Church", he specifically noted that the land he was donating was to be for a "meeting house" and the creek used for the church purposes, but he asked that none of his two acres be used for a "graveyard". Later on another land owner gave another parcel of land to use that is adjacent to these two acres. Bill Russell was kind enough to also send me some pictures of the current grave yard, but none of my ancestors names are there. I'm sorry, I don't have a specific address for you, but I don't think the Shoal Creek Baptist Church is hard to find. I do not live in Georgia. Please let me know if you need other information.
