    2. Just to let y'all know--we got through our first banquet unscathed. Everything went real well, and we seem to finally be up and running. We even got the first issue of the newsletter printed. Those of you who are members and did not make it to the banquet should be receiving yours in the mail shortly if you haven't already. We are trying to get to the older residents of the county to write some articles for us about their communities. I just hope everyone will be understanding of their vocabulary. Ms. Rosalee King who did our first is a grand lady in her late 80's who stays busy all the time. Time has not slowed her a single bit. Plans are underway for a BBQ in September. This will be a family event and I hope lots of y'all will plan to make it. Our first field trip on May 5th went well also. We had some good speakers at the sites and got to see things most folks either don't notice or are not allowed to see. I did discover that I am a bit to old to go climbing in bell towers and I won't do that again--but I'm not sorry I did it once. Very shortly we will begin indexing the cemeteries. There are a number of family cemeteries that were misssed in the first indexing done back in the '70's--so we have to find all of them and add names to the rest. Anyone with any info on the location of any they might like to see indexed, please get in touch with me and I will see it is added to the list. I finally finished the "G" Bride's list, and as soon as Barbara works her magic on it, it will be up with the rest of them for you to peruse. I have started the "H" list, but this will be slow going there are an awful lot of pages. Just bear with me. Steph
